Ul-Ji Tul

 

Definition:

(42) Named after general Ul-Ji Moon Dok (died after 618) who successfully defended Korea against  an invasion from Tang Dynasty of nearly one million soldiers led by Yang Je in 612 CE. Eulji employed hit and run guerrilla tactics and was able to decimate a large percentage of the force. The diagram represents his surname. The 42 movements represent the author's age when he designed the pattern.

2-3:

Execute a pressing block with an X-fist and then a rising block with an X-knife-hand in a continuous motion.

 

6:

Middle crescent kick.

 

11:

Cross the left foot to the right foot in a fast motion.

 

12:

Middle side piercing kick (keep the position of the hands).

 

22:

Middle front snap kick (keep the position of the hands).

23:

High punch.

 

27:

Jump to execute a flying high kick.

 

28:

Checking block with an X-knife hand in a fixed stance.

 

30:

Middle side front snap kick while executing a middle wedging block with the inner forearm.

 

32:

Execute a middle outward block with the knife hand and a middle pushing block with the palm a fixed stance.

 

33:

Slide forming a L-stance while executing a middle punch.

 

35:

Middle turning kick.

Middle back piercing kick.

 

Définition:

Le général Ul-Ji Moon Dok (décédé après 618) défendit victorieusement la Corée contre une invasion Chinoise de près d'un million d'hommes, commandés par Yang Je en l'an 612.  Il décima un grand pourcentage des forces ennemies par des tactiques de guérilla.  Le tracé donne son surnom.  Le nombre de mouvements révèle l'âge du général Choi Hong Hi lorsqu'il  créa cette forme.
