Definition:
(38) Yulgok is the pen name of the philosopher and scholar Yi l (1536-1584). Nicknamed
the "Confucius of Korea". He is one of two most prominent Korean Confucian, the other
being Yi Hwang (Toigye).
The 38 movements of this pattern refer to his birthplace (Gangneung in the Gangwon
Province) on 38th latitude.
The diagram of the pattern represents "scholar".
Yi I was also a social reformer.
